about me

HI! If you’re reading this it means you want to know more about ME. So what do you want to know?

Why am I writing this blog?

I decided to start a blog to help people. I feel that after going through a horrific journey of Lyme disease, 4 coinfections, and horrible complications, I have a completely new and improved perspective on the world. Why not share it with the world? Read my posts to see this perspective!

Where I grew up?

Westchester County, NY. I was born in New York City and lived there as a baby (although I don’t remember it, I wish I did, I love the city). I hate the suburbs. Westchester is just outside of Manhattan, and it is definitely the suburbs. Definitely no 24 hour Chinese food delivery here! The city never sleeps. The suburbs snore.

Do I have any siblings?

YES!  I have one younger brother, which somehow feels like ten. His name is Blake, which is the nicest part about him. We are very close …but complete opposites, yet share the same sense of humor and love of Italian food and Mustangs. A good car, quality car, if it has a roaring engine and good tires! It’s all about the engine!! I know that when I get a car, I definitely do NOT want a housecat engine. I want a LION that is roaring for the world to hear my PEOPLEEEE!!!

My brother and I also enjoy similar rap music… that he loves to blast on his fancy speakers in the shower that he sings along with (very proudly to.)

What is my favorite color?

Gold, Gold, Gold, GOLD BABBBYYY!!!

What is something random that I really want to do in NYC?

I have never been to a hockey game. I would really like to go to a Rangers game and sit close to the ice. They seem so cold and the players are so hot! I am loyal to the core but when it comes to sports teams I like to root for the team that is winning! I always tell my brother, “Can we please stop rooting for the Jets?” It is getting embarrassing. So, if you ever have an extra ticket call me 😉

What are my favorite TV shows?

I watch a ton of shows. I have high standards for reality TV though.

Which is my FAVORITE?

That is a really tough choice. I would have to say either Keeping up with the Kardashians of course, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills (for fans: I met Erika Jayne (she is so tall) and Mikey. THEY ARE SO KIND AND AMAZING!!!), and Don’t Be Tardy! Those are my top 3. For non-reality TV my favorite shows are definitely The Sopranos and Gossip Girl.

Where do I go to school?

I went to school at my local small public school my entire life until I was sick, not being able to go into school in 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grade was extremely hard for me emotionally. I still saw my friends when I was up to it, but it was not a normal teenage experience. I would rather have  hated high school than hate the hospitals. So, I had to do home tutoring through an agency where my public school sent work to them and I did it at home. I finished off high school at a private school and started college. I am currently a sophomore in a global honors program and business honors program. I am so blessed to have the opportunity to go to college. I am ecstatic that I am well enough. Time to make up for all the years I missed out on and get to Wall Street!!

Who has been the most influential person in my life?

I cannot choose just one person. I would say that there have definitely been a lot of people that have influenced the person that I have become today. One person that does stand out is my uncle. He died this past year while I was in the hospital. It all happened very quickly. I was in shock. I never felt so depressed in my life. I missed being able to say goodbye to him. Giving him a hug. Saying how much I loved him! It was horrific. I talked to the board of the hospital, social workers, doctors, the nurse practitioner, physical and occupational therapist, all to try and let me go to my uncle’s funeral or wake. I at this point, I had to be grateful if they let me out to go to one. I convinced them … or annoyed them so much they just said yes. I had to say goodbye. It was too abrupt. I had spoken to him the day he died. I have a voicemail from him that day. I listen to it multiple times a day still. I can’t imagine the day I won’t. He was sick for years with leukemia, yet always had the most optimistic attitude. He taught me how to stay positive on the worst of days, and I will forever admire and love him for that.

What are my hobbies?

When I was younger I used to do plays and sing a lot. I just started to sing again, and I am so happy I did. I love it it makes me feel like the “old me” is back. It is a great feeling.

While I was sick, I wrote a lot. It really helped me and, well, clearly it got me here.

I love to hang out with my family. I am a HUGE family person. Family is extremely important to me.

I love fashion. My mom went to F.I.T. and my grandfather was the longest working professor there, so I guess you can say it is in my blood!

I am involved with Global Lyme Alliance. I raised $10,000 for them. By supporting this charity that helps so many and does research for a cure that has not only affected me but millions across the world I am doing my part to try and find a cure for this awful debilitating disease. I am working on some great things with them now! Stay tuned for more soon!

I loveeee hanging out with my friends.Going out for dinner, shopping, manicures. (love to get them and fun designs)

I wouldn’t necessarily call this a hobby but nowhere else to put it I love watching the stock market… except when I lose money! (I am probably the first kid in a children’s hospital to watch Mad Money! And receive a basket from our financial planner when I got home! )

What’s my horoscope?

My sign is Aquarius! And I am super into all that “stuff”. Who knows how real it is, but I think it’s interesting. It gives you something to blame when things go wrong! I also absolutely love going to the psychic. There’s a place in the city that I like to go to with friends in the meatpacking district. To the right of the place is a great pizza place and to the left is a psychic. We have a running joke that if a guy takes me to a psychic after going out well then he’s a keeper if he doesn’t,  I don’t have to spell it out for you!

What do I want to do when I am older?

I want to work on Wall Street! I am doing an internship this summer in finance working in wealth management. There are somethings you know you are meant to do.  Although, I would continue to write my blog as well.

What is my favorite food?

My favorite food is 3 meat meatballs and homemade spaghetti. My favorite dessert is Dairy Queen ice cream and Tollhouse cookie pie! That is the way to my heart! I am very picky about my meatballs. Trust me, my family will gladly tell you! Although, I could go for some sesame chicken and fried rice right now.

What is something you are dreaming to do?

Skydiving. I feel that I would be free of my past if I went skydiving. If I was just in the air enjoying and taking it all in.

What is my advice to someone suffering right now?

  1. Do not doubt yourself. 2. Block out the noise. 3. Try and get a support system it is essential. I know how hard it is to get a “good” substantial support system but this is essential. 4. Do not isolate yourself. 5. Believe in YOURSELF! 6. Do not GIVE UP!  7. BELIEVE AND YOU WILL RECEIVE!

Tell me about yourself and all of your hopes, dreams, favorite color, horoscope, are you a fan of my shows? If so, who is your favorite housewife? Favorite Kardashian?

Sending love and positive vibes to all!

Ta Ta 4 Now!
